3) Not every good leader starts out fast in the business.  Just because someone isn't doing a lot doesn't mean they won't eventually. Your job is to get them in, keep them in and move them along.  Never pressure people to do more than they are ready to do. 

4) The key to success is to consistently sponsor 2-4 new distributors EVERY SINGLE MONTH, over a period of a few years. 

5) Most of your income will come from just 1-3 people, even if you've sponsored hundreds of people. 

6) Your key is to sell the appointment and let the appointment sell the presentation and opportunity. The less you say on the initial contact the better. Do not puke your opportunity over your prospects. Your goal is to say enough to sell the appointment. That's it.

7) Not everyone likes network marketing, but everyone likes to buy stuff.  That's one good reason to lead with the products.

8) Always maintain 2-10 retail customers every single month and teach your team to do the same thing. 

9) If you are working the business part-time, you should be making minimum 2-10 contacts per day, 5 days per week.  If you are doing the business full-time, you should aim for 30 to 50 contacts per day, 5 days per week.  Part-time or full-time is not dictated by how many hours you work your business, but instead by the number of new prospects you contact daily. 

10) You must have confidence and posture when talking to people.  No one wants to do business with someone who is needy or desperate.  This is why personal development is so important.

Entrepreneurs - Most entrepreneurs understand hard work.  They're willing to do whatever it takes to become successful. 

Professionals - This includes lawyers, doctors, accountants, realtors and insurance agents. Professionals have credibility and a large network of people who respect them.    

Teachers - Teachers do very well in our industry.  After all, this is a teaching business.

Network MarketersWhile most come with some level of baggage and bad habits, network marketers already believe in the industry and many of them have been trained on what it takes to be successful. 

Anyone who is ultra successful - I like to look for people who are VERY successful at what they do, people at the top of their game. 

Happy customers - Your best distributors will often be happy customers first. 

People who lead volunteer organizations - Most people who lead any type of volunteer organization are very influential.  They are definitely worth recruiting. 

Women - Women make up a large majority of the people in our industry. They do very well in network marketing and are great prospects. 

My challenge for you today is to make a list of anyone you know who falls into any of these categories and reach out to them. 1) Develop a written marketing plan- Keep it to 1-2 pages. Write down your goals, budget, strategy, target market, etc.  Refer to it daily and update it once a month.


2) Teach your team members about marketing - As you learn new things about marketing, share what you learn with other people on your team.


3) Pick a specific target market – Determine a group of people you want to focus your marketing efforts on.  Not everyone is a prospect.


4) Spend 30 minutes a day studying marketing – Learn everything you can about marketing, specifically direct response marketing.  Once you know how to generate leads on demand the business becomes easy.


5) Have a good follow up system in place – Realize that most people you talk to will need to see your message 10-20 times before they ever buy or join.


6) Pick a marketing strategy and commit to it for at least 12 months – Pick something that makes sense to you and follow through with it, no matter what.


7) Pick one method, master it, and do nothing else – Don’t spread yourself too thin trying to do too many marketing things at one time.  Pick one way of generating leads and one way of building the business and do nothing else until you are successful with it.


8) Get an autoresponder and add every contact to it – Whether you are building your business online or offline, you need an autoresponder. This allows you to build a list and follow up automatically.


9) Send two handwritten notes every single day – Add the personal touch in your business. At a bare bone's minimum, send out two handwritten notes every single day.


10) Create a referral program for your prospects and customers – Incentivize people to give you referrals. Calculate how much a new customer or distributor is worth to you and give out cash bonuses to people who give you referrals.

1) Use the products!

4) Teach, Train, and support your people!

5) Repeat over and over!

--SHOULD YOU LEAD WITH THE PRODUCT OR THE BUSINESS?

You can lead with either the products or opportunity and be successful. I personally lead with VALUE, but I have successful team members that lead with the products.

At the end of the day, you need customers and distributors. If no one orders the products, no one makes any money.

What I would do is tailor my conversation to the NEEDS of the person I am talking to. Ask questions and figure out what their problem is, and then offer either the opportunity, or products as a solution to their problem.    

--A SIMPLE DAILY ROUTINE:


1) Contact five new prospects daily, using whatever method you feel most comfortable with.

2) Create one new piece of content. Such as a blog post, You tube video, or podcast, so you can develop a passive recruiting strategy.

3) Contact one team member, and one customer daily,

4) Follow up with one prospect daily.

5) Spend 10-15 minutes daily, on personal development.

--IMPORTANCE OF EVENTS:

For the past decade, I've been a loner. I really didn't go to any company events. I just enjoy being home on my computer.

I have recently rediscovered the importance of events. If your upline, or company has events, try really hard to never miss one. By attending, it helps build your belief in the company and products. It also teaches you knew skills and gets you around other movers and shakers within your company.

This is an event driven industry.

*** How to Sponsor One Person a Week *** {280}

πŸ’šOver the years I've taught people on my team that if you can sponsor one person a week, every week, for a few years, you can build up a huge team.  (at the very least, try to get 1 person a month, and you can still build a massive income!)     

Do that for three years and you will sponsor 156 people.  Do it for five years and you will personally sponsor 260 people.

In order to sponsor one person per week, you will probably have to contact 25 people per week, which breaks down to FIVE contacts per day, Monday through Friday. 

Out of every 25 people, five should agree to watch a presentation and typically about one in five who watches a presentation will sign up as a distributor.

I can’t guarantee you these exact numbers, but I do know it should be pretty close.

When I say contact FIVE people a day, it means to invite 5 people to take a look at a presentation. 

This can be a video presentation, a live meeting, a conference call, webinar, etc.  Keep it simple, use third party tools and remove yourself from the equation.

I truly believe that if you prospected FIVE people a day, every day, five days a week, for a few years, you could build up a HUGE business.

Some of you might be wondering, “Where do I find these people?”

These people are everywhere.  They include friends, family, strangers, people online, leads, etc. 

There are literally seven BILLION plus people in the world.  Most of us come in contact with HUNDREDS of people each day.  All you have to do is be friendly, introduce yourself and start a conversation.

If that doesn't work for you, come up with a marketing strategy that works for you, so you always have new leads to talk to.

*** Advice for Working with Your New Distributors *** {279}

πŸ’–Many sponsors want success for their team members more than their team members want it for themselves.  It’s sad, but a common reality.     

Your job as a sponsor or upline is to teach and support your team.  However, it’s not your job to build their business for them or make them successful. That's their job.

When you first sponsor someone you want to sit down with them and tell them your expectations.  Let them know that you are there to help them and support them, but you won’t do everything for them.  

Let them know that you will match their efforts. Give them an assignment and if they do it, give them another assignment.

Unfortunately, a lot of new distributors are in the take mode.  They will take whatever you give them.  

It’s your job to sift and sort through your new team members to identify who is serious and who is not.  

You can do that by watching what people do.  Talk is cheap.  Most people talk a big game, but it's more important that you watch the feet, not the lips.

Spend your time where it is deserved, rather than where it is needed.  Spend your time with workers.  Spend your time with people who are coachable, hungry and willing to follow your leadership.

If they aren't willing to do that, go recruit someone who will.  The biggest mistake you can make in this industry is spending your time trying to help the wrong people.
