❓What is a calorie defecit?
Let's get right to it. This isn't rocket science. You must burn more calories than you take in, and everyone should know that, and Now you're wondering how to do that. In the beginning you may want to track your calories by writing everything down that you consume. By doing so, you're creating positive habits, and it will be much easier to stay on top of your weight loss GOAL.
There is a formula involved and I'm going to lay it out here and now...
π{Formula}: The human body needs approximately (15) calories per pound of body weight just to maintain, so let's say a (200) pound man wants to lose weight. Take his current weight which is 200 pounds, and multiply it by 15 which we already said is how many calories per pound of body weight needed to maintain. When you multiply (200x15 That's 3,500 calories needed just maintain his current body weight) This formula is for both men and women...
Now let's say this individual wants to lose (25) pounds, which brings his weight down to (175 pounds).
The best way to go about it is to start out by dropping around (250) calories from the original (3,500) maintanence calories, which drops you to (3,250) calories per day consumed. I would recommend keeping a journal or something to track your progress. Continue eating (3,250) calories for 4-6 weeks, and if you're able to lose 1-2 pounds per week safely, then continue doing that until you reach your target weight.
If you're not happy with your results to that point, then drop another (250) calories which puts you at (3,000), and do that for the next 4-6 weeks. You continue to repeat this process if you're still not happy, and do this until you reach your target weight.
Just know that if you have a significant amount of weight to lose, it's going to take you a very long time to achieve that, so give yourself time, and don't get discouraged and quit! Without your health, you have nothing!
Initially you will lose Visceral fat which is surrounding your organs, and then you will lose some water weight all before you start buring the remaining fat.
I'm not going to tell you how to eat, but just so you know, you don't have to eat perfect to lose weight. It's ok if you have some cheat meals, as long as you can stay inside the calorie deficit your body will continue to lose weight, but you do need to be active. Movement burns calories, so the more you move, the more calories you burn...
{Fun Facts}
1) There are (3,500) calories in one pound of fat!
2) You must burn (3,500) calories plus what you've eaten for the day to burn one pound!
3) The human body can burn approximately 50 calories per hour while dormant! (Sleeping)
4) The average gym goer can burn approximately 400-600 calories in about an hour and a half through weight training!
5) If you eat in a calorie surplus, it's not possible to lose weight!
