MLM is big business.
There are over 100 million distributors worldwide and the industry is reaching $200 Billion a year in sales.
Yet, most people that join MLM treat it like a “get-rich-quick” scheme.
They don’t exactly understand it.
If they did, they would treat it much like a college education or a new career.
They would understand that it takes approximately 3 to 5 years to get good at MLM, just like a profession.
They would understand that there’s a huge learning curve in the beginning and you won’t get paid what you’re worth – just like running a small business.
So, I outline below a few steps to recruit more people into your MLM.
It takes consistent effort if you want to reach big numbers.
I’ve been in MLM since 2006, and shoot for around 50 reps per year,
which is around 4 per month, but everyone has different GOALS!
Anyone can do this once they learn about online marketing and stop relying on a few family members to join, thinking they’ll make you rich!
Here’s the Top 3 MLM Tips That Helped Me
One – Invest, Learn, Teach and A/B Test Everything:
When you start MLM it is crucial to learn about it as if you’re starting college.
That means training and taking notes and then communicating what you learned.
This is what Ray Higdon calls “invest, learn, teach.”
Anyone can look like an authority in MLM when they practice invest, learn, teach.
You simply watch a video or read an article on MLM, then regurgitate what you just learned by creating content.
People will see your content on the internet, and they will respect you and want to join you because you seem to know something they don’t.
Do these enough times and you will have a lot of content online that will generate enough leads to grow a large MLM business.
Also, you need to A/B test the things you put on the internet.
I am constantly tweaking what I put on this blog and how I try to generate leads.
You can’t just slap something up one time and expect it to generate tons of leads forever.
Two – The Money Sucks in The Beginning:
Once you understand that the big money doesn’t come from you, but from the organization you build, you won’t be so discouraged when you see your first checks. It's all about Leverage!
I earned very little per month for my first few years in MLM, because I couldn’t recruit a lot, not enough content online yet, and I didn’t have a team, Or the knowledge, but I was eager to learn, which I did, and Still Am...
It was just me in the beginning, and it was very frustrating, because every opportunity I joined, my Sponsors were there only to take my money and never help me to succeed.
As I said before it took a few years for my team to start growing, and then the money grew along with it.
It all depends on what kind of people you recruit into your business.

Three – Keep Recruiting:
90% of the people that join your MLM business will eventually quit.
It’s not your fault; it’s just human nature.
People quit everything they start for a million reasons.
Once you realize this and don’t take it too personally, you’ll be bulletproof.
I like to say that a good number to recruit each month is 3- 4 new reps.
That way, if two or three quit on you, you have one person who sticks with you.
Over a few years, you’ll get a large team if you keep recruiting.
But, if you only recruit 4 people, then stop, like most people do, they will all quit on you, and you will have to start all over. Don't get discouraged, because this happens to everyone at some point, just try to figure out how to help people solve problems and you earn trust that way!
Your team will also copy what you do, so if they see you not recruiting anymore, they’ll stop also, and "NO" one wants that!
Once you do these steps effortlessly and consistently and don’t get too emotional about it, just treat it like business, you will go far.
It’s important to really ask yourself why you want to do MLM.
Is it to get out of a dead-end job?
Is it to get back your time with family and friends?
It’s really important to understand your “why” because without a strong reason to stick with MLM, you’ll probably quit. Even if you have to write it down and look at it every day, then DO SO, because you have to stay focused and motivated, or you will NEVER achieve your GOALS!!!

1.) Spend 95% of your "work hours" on income producing activities: retailing and recruiting.

2.) Do not confuse busy work with productive work.  We only get paid to talk to people.  Everything else is busywork.

3.) Plan out your week every Sunday night.  Determine what days you will work your business, at what time each day, and what activities you will do during that time.

4.) Have a "to do" list for your business every single day.

5.) Don't multi-task.  Do one thing at a time when you are working in your business. 

6.) Use a day planner every day. Have your "work time" scheduled in your day planner. 

7.) Set goals for your business.

8.) Spend about 85% of your time recruiting and retailing, 10% of your time helping your team and 5% of your time on personal development. 

9.) Keep your workspace organized. 

10.) Work at a "time of the day" where you are most productive. 

11.) Track your work activities every day so you know EXACTLY what you accomplished.

12.) Stay accountable to your mentor, spouse or business partner and report what you accomplished during your work hours.

Multiply your income

Working in the multi-level marketing industry is very different from working in any other industry. For the first few months it’s the same: you work very hard, and you make very little money. Same as almost every other job, every other industry.

Then the paths separate. In other industries, you continue to work hard, and you make the same amount of money you’ve been making in the first couple of months. If you get a raise, it can be 2%, 5%.

Multiply your Income: In the multi-level marketing industry, you work hard and after the first couple of months if you do everything right: you start multiplying your income. Exponentially. Your income doubles, triples. Then your income explodes – and increases by 5 times, by 10 times. If your own income hasn’t doubled in the past 10 months, there’s a reason. You may be working hard, but not smart.

*** Marketing Tips: (It's All About The Numbers) *** {269}

πŸ’₯This business is a numbers game. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to you. It’s also a game of skill and strategy, but you will need to sift and sort through a large pool of people to recruit a lot of distributors, in order to find your few key players.          

Most top earners have personally sponsored approximately 100 to 500 people, been with their current company 5 or more years, and make anywhere from 80 to 80 percent of their income from FIVE or fewer people. Chew on that!

To play it safe, let’s assume you need FIVE key people to build a large MLM Team. Here are some conservative numbers to show you how to do that.  Please note that I use the 20/80 Rule, to be as realistic as I can.  
  • To find 5 key people you need 25 distributors who actually do something
  • To recruit 25 people who do actually something you need to sponsor 125 distributors
  • To recruit 125 distributors, you need to show 625 presentations
  • To show 625 presentations you need to approach 3,125 prospects
Using this strategy, you would need to approach 3,125 people about your business opportunity.  That sounds like a lot of people, but if you contacted just five people a day, every day, you could get that done in 625 days, which is just over 20 months. If you contacted 10 people a day, you could get that done in about 10-11 months. If you contacted 20 people a day, you could do that in about six months.

That is the power of numbers working for you. The real key to success in this business is making exposures to new prospects every single day.  This is a business of exposures.

I suggest you pick a number that is doable, somewhere between three and twenty people, and make a vow to never go to bed at night until you have exposed that many people to your business that day.

If you had the discipline to do that, you could literally build a great business in less than two years, all while working your business part-time.  Now you know.  Eliminate the excuses and expose new people to your business opportunity daily.  Do that consistently and you will make it to the top of your compensation plan.  Don’t do it and you will struggle.

How do you find these people and contact them?  There is no right or wrong answer.  Pick a strategy that leverages your talents and abilities and focus on that. 

For the lawyers reading this, I must legally say that individual results will always vary. I cannot guarantee you these exact same results. You might have to talk to more people to get these results, or you might have to talk to less people to get these results.  Each person's experience will be unique.

Most People Won't Join Right Away

Most people won't join your team right away. In fact, most of the people that you do sponsor will take AT LEAST 7 to 20 exposures before they sign their name to the dotted line and become a distributor.

The only purpose of an exposure is to make another one.  The money really is in the follow up.  Stay in touch with people until they buy or die, but do so in a non-hype, non-threatening manner.

1.) Stuff mailings. Never mail a letter, send an invoice, pay a bill or ship a product without including a flyer or some information about your MLM Business or product. It’s a great way to let everyone you’re in contact with know who you are and what you’re doing, and it only costs a few pennies to do.

2.) Maximize voice-mail messages. If you only include instructions on how to leave a message on your voicemail, you’re wasting valuable time. Instead, use some of the time to prompt callers to visit your personal blog or MLM business website or even tell them about upcoming promotions.   

3.) Upgrade phone manners. Whoever answers your phone is the “vice-president of first impressions.” Be sure they’re cheerful, helpful and sending out good vibrations to callers. “G’day. This is Jack speaking. How may I help you?

4.) Apply stickers. Stickers are not just for kids. Be creative and create stickers that will get out the message you want to share. One MLM’er I know plastered a sticker saying “We (heart) referrals” on everything that left her office and her MLM business took off.

5.) Send greeting cards. Let your MLM Team, your customers and prospects know you care by sending greeting cards or e-cards on birthdays, holidays and special occasions. Everyone loves getting a note of appreciation or a congratulation’s pat on the back.

6.) Network for success. Getting out of the house or office to meet with like-minded people is an enjoyable, inexpensive way to promote your MLM business. Carry plenty of business cards, flyers or brochures with you to share with new friends. Be sure to develop a short, positive introduction to yourself and your MLM business

.7.) Get the most out of business cardsA business card can contain more than just a name, title and contact details. Use both sides of the card and include a description of your product and service, a mission statement or some other valuable information about your MLM business

8.) Hang signs. Place a magnetic sign promoting your MLM business or website on the side of your car. It’s an easy way to publicize your business every time you leave home and get out on the road doing whatever you’re doing.

9.) Make speeches or teach classes. Take advantage of every opportunity you can get to stand up in front of a group of people and tell your story. It establishes you as an expert in your field. Find opportunities in your local paper’s event calendar or at the local public library. Social, business and civic groups are always looking for speakers.

10.) Get free or very inexpensive help. Do you need help designing website or some other sales promotional material for your MLM business or Product? See if your local college or business school has a marketing or advertising club that can help in exchange for the experience or maybe even course credit. It’s an excellent way to get either free or very low-cost help.

Creating MLM success need not break the bank. Use your imagination to expand on these ideas and come up with even better ones of your own.
