***Tax Deductions For Small Business Owners?*** {191}

πŸ’ŸChecklist of Tax Deductions for Small Business:

1.) Employees' Pay. You can deduct the pay you give your employees as long as the pay is in cash, property or services.

2.) Inventory (Cost of Goods Sold). Businesses that manufacture products or purchase them for resale can deduct the cost of goods sold.

3.) Employee Benefits. Benefits like health plans, adoption assistance, educational assistance, and life insurance for your employees are generally tax deductible.

4.) Profit-Sharing or Pension Plans. You can deduct contributions you make to your employees' SEP, SIMPLE, and other qualified plans.

5.) Home Office. To calculate how much of the home-related expenses are tax deductible, measure your work area and divide by the square footage of your home. The resulting percentage is the fraction of rent, mortgage, insurance, electricity, housekeeping, etc. that you can claim. Make sure your home office is dedicated to your business work. Claiming your entire living room because that's where your laptop is will get you in trouble if the auditor comes knocking.

6.) Auto Maintenance and Mileage. There are two ways to calculate vehicle deductions: standard mileage rate or actual expenses (such as gas and maintenance). Use the method that results in a larger deduction.

7.) Utilities. The water, power, trash, and telephone bills at your office are all 100 percent deductible as regular business expenses. If you have a phone line that has a mix of business and personal calls, highlight the business calls and deduct only the business related portion of the bill.

8.) Advertising and Marketing. As long as they are directly related to your business, you can deduct the cost of ordinary advertising (business card purchases, yellow page ads, and so on), as well as promotion costs for good publicity (such as sponsoring a local sports team).

9.) Depreciation. If you buy property to use in your business, you generally can't deduct the entire cost in the year of purchase — but you can spread the cost over more than one tax year and deduct part of it each year.

10.) Office Supplies. Pens, paper, staples, thumb tacks… keep those receipts!

11.) Bad Debts. Your bad debt is deductible only if the amount owed to you was previously included in gross income.

12.) Education. This includes seminars and trade shows, but don't forget any magazines, books, CDs and DVDs that are related to your business or industry. They are all 100 percent tax deductible.

13.) Professional Fees. Accountants, lawyers and other professional consulting fees are fully deductible.

14.) Travel Expenses. Nearly all business travel expenses are 100 percent deductible. These include airfare, hotels, and other on-the-road expenses (like dry cleaning, Wi-Fi or cab fares). Eating out on the road is also deductible, but only up to 50 percent.

15.) Entertaining. Eating out with colleagues on a day-to-day basis is not deductible, but if you bring along a client or prospective client, that meal is 50 percent deductible. Taking a current or prospective client out for drinks or a show is also 50 percent deductible, but it has to be within a business setting or take place before or after a business meeting.

16.) Furniture. You can either deduct the entire cost in the year of the purchase or depreciate it over several years.

17.) Office Equipment. That new fax machine, copier, or computer is also 100 percent deductible. You can take it all in one year or depreciate it.

18.) Insurance Premiums. You can deduct premiums that you pay for credit, liability, malpractice, and workers' compensation insurance, among others.

19.) Employee or Client Gifts. A gift to a client or employee is 100 percent deductible, up to $25 per year per person.

20.) Start up Expenses (Capital Expenses). You can choose to deduct up to $5,000 of start up costs, which include any research costs incurred for creating your business.

21.) Interest. Mortgage interest, finance charges (like credit cards), interest on payment plans, and interest paid on other loans are all 100 percent deductible.

22.) Software. Boxed or downloaded software are included. With more software being made available as a service, software subscriptions are also tax deductible.

23.) Charitable Contributions. If you contribute $250 or more, and claim the deduction, you need to have a letter from the organization which verifies your donation. To figure out how much you can deduct with non-monetary donations, see IRS Publication 561, Determining the Value of Donated Property.

24.) Theft and Loss. A general rule of thumb: If the theft or loss wasn't avoidable, you can deduct it. However, accidents and normal wear don't count.

25.) Petty Cash and Tips. Just because you didn't get a receipt doesn't mean you can't deduct the cost, but you should have some documentation. It's as much for you as for a potential audit. Small cash expenses here and there can add up to a significant amount by the end of the year!

26.) Service Fees. Those fees for processing credit cards? One hundred percent deductible.

27.) Taxes. As strange as it sounds, taxes incurred in running your business are deductible.

28.) Rent. You can deduct rent as an expense if the rent is for property that you use for your business. However, you can't deduct the rent if you have even partial equity (or will receive equity) in the property.

29.) Freelancers. If you hire an independent contractor, you can deduct their pay as a business expense.

30.) Repairs and Maintenance. The cost of repairs to keep your business property and equipment in operating condition is deductible.

31.) Licenses. License fees, as well as regulatory fees, are deductible.

***What To Look For Before Starting An MLM Opportunity?*** {190}

πŸ’₯Q: I'm looking for a home based business opportunity or a network marketing company to represent. What questions should I ask the company before I make a decision?

A: Whether you are looking for a part-time opportunity or a full-time career change, selecting the right business venture is clearly a major part of your formula for success. Thousands of potential home based independent distributorships, franchises and network marketing opportunities are being offered in newsstand opportunity magazines, on those spam e-mails you receive regularly, or from friends and relatives who are convinced they've found the holy grail to make you both wealthy.

Unfortunately, many people jump at opportunities based on advertising hype or unsubstantiated promises and are quickly disappointed. There's nothing wrong with a company promoting its opportunity in the best light, or with your friends focusing on the potential benefits available in their own ventures. It's just that you need to separate facts from illusions, reality from fantasy and true potential from the enthusiastic sales pitch of the people who stand to profit from your involvement. They may have taken a leap of faith themselves without having done their own due diligence. There are many good opportunities for those willing to work and work hard. Any business that offers real opportunity requires real effort. Just remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Here are the six questions you should ask to help you make educated decisions about your time and money investment.

1.) How long has the company been in business? If they've been around for several years, they'll have network marketing operators who have already paved the way. Ask for references. And if they won't give you any, dig deeper to find out why.

If this is a start-up venture, look for signs of financial stability. Are they properly funded to deliver on the promises they promote?

2.) Who are the people behind the company? Do they have proven business expertise? Have they had other successes prior to this business that assure you they understand what it takes to succeed? Do they have a successful network marketing background? If not, is a member of their executive team or a consulting organization guiding them?

3.) Are the products or services of personal interest to you? You usually won't do well in a business when you can't personally relate to the products. Would you buy this product yourself? Would you recommend it to friends even if you weren't paid to do so? Have you actually tried the product?

4.) What type of training is offered in the beginning? You can't do what you don't know, so make sure you have access to beginning and ongoing training support.

5.) Does the company offer great support tools? Do they provide a time-tested and proven marketing and sales system, as well as tools to help you? Video and audio training or sales presentations, printed literature, catalogs and a strong Web site linked to an online e-commerce catalog are all considered standard sales support. Linking your personal Web site to the company site is a must when marketing branded consumer products--you need this to ensure sales credit for your customers' online purchases.

Also, what's the product warranty? Will your customers be on your doorstep if there's a problem, or will the company stand behind the product . and behind you?

6.) How do you earn your money? If you're buying products or services at wholesale and marking them up for your profit, the company should have a suggested formula for profitability. Is it rich enough to return your investment quickly? Is the compensation plan easy to understand? Find out whether the profit percentages are paid on retail sales, wholesale after retail commissions are deducted, or on an amount selected by the company based on product profitability. Don't judge the plan solely on the promotional copy. Ask questions and make sure you understand when you'll receive your profits. Also, ask someone you trust who has network marketing experience to evaluate how the money will flow. The company should have a detailed explanation of their plan to help the novice work though the complexities. Good compensation plans can be complex. Don't let this scare you. Just take the time to understand the reward for your investment.

You can't afford to make hasty decisions in choosing a network marketing business. Your time is your life. Waste your time, and you waste your life. Making good decisions means seeking out the facts. It's well worth the effort--it saves you time and money by eliminating the bad choices and finding winners.

One other thing: Sometimes you'll make your decision based on pure emotion and gut feeling. If the opportunity is recommended by a friend, as is the case with most network marketing programs, look upline several levels from your sponsor to determine the type of support you'll receive in building your business. You rarely succeed alone. It takes a team effort matched to a good product and support system. But in the end, the dollar bill won't sprout wings and fly into your mailbox. You have to make it happen. Part 2 of this post is in the link just below.

***Can Anyone Succeed @ an MLM Venture?*** {189}

πŸ’“It’s an undisputed fact that not everyone can be a success at Multi-level Marketing. In fact, the evidence is clear that most people (about 90%) who try to make this business model work will fail completely. Most of the remaining 10% don’t make much money. That honor is reserved for the people at the very top. The individuals who “have what it takes” to make real money at it are very few and far between. Of course, when an MLM company is recruiting people, they make it sound like all you need is a positive mindset and an excellent work ethic. Then, they blame you for not having the willpower and the right attitude when you fail. That’s kind of like saying anyone can be an NBA player if they just want it badly enough. The truth is that not everyone is cut out for this type of work.

Understanding MLM:

A Multi-level Marketing opportunity (as opposed to a flat out pyramid scheme) offers participants two ways to make revenue. You can sell products directly to clients either out of your own pre-purchased inventory or by routing sales through the parent company. Or, you can recruit others to sell the products and get paid a cut from everything they sell. Some MLM opportunities pay you a percentage on everyone your recruits sign up to sell products as well. In most setups, the (theoretical) big money is on commissions from the products and opportunities the people downstream or “down line” from you sell. You are making money off other people’s sales efforts to a much larger pool of customers.

What It Really Takes?

This type of business opportunity is most likely to work well for:

People who are born with a great deal of charisma. You know the ones – everyone is always clustered around them at a party, waiting for a little attention. This type of business opportunity is predicated on great social skills. MLM is not designed for people who want to work from home because they are naturally introverted. You’re stress level will be through the roof from all the schmoozing this job requires.

Individuals with a long, successful background in other forms of direct sales. You’ve got to have a great sales pitch and the ability to close a deal to convince anyone to buy the product or to sign up recruits in your down line. There’s no substitute for skill and experience – especially if you want to start making money before you run out of savings. People with a substantial and highly active social media network. This is critical for today’s online MLM opportunities (they are called network marketing for a reason). If you are already a blogger with thousands of followers and hundreds of comments on each post, that’s a good start.

If you don’t fit into one of the categories above, you may not have what it takes to make it in the MLM game.

{DSP Team Mailer & Your Success!}

June 13, 2016

Hi Rick,

For a long time now I have been stressing the need for everyone to be using the DSP Team Mailer in your Payliners Room to contact your Tour Takers on a regular basis, and some of you have been. BUT many of you are still not taking advantage of the Most Powerful Tool you have in your Payliners Room.

Not using the DSP Team Mailer is like setting out on a 1,000 mile journey on foot, when you have a car available (DSP Team Mailer). If at the end of that 1,000 mile journey is 230K waiting for you, I would think that you would you want to get there as fast as possible!

Payliner`s who use the DSP Team Mailer are having most success than those who do not use it. With this fact in hand, why anyone would choose not to use it is hard to believe.

Communication with your Tour Takers is so important! Yes, I do follow up with everyone`s Tour Takers but they NEED to hear from their sponsor too!

I want to share with you 2 mails I received yesterday. This first email is from from Bob V . United Kingdom , a DigiSoft Payliner , and the second is from Nick S. United States, a Tour Taker

******************************************

Hi Ron,

Things have certainly improved for me over the past few weeks! One of the contributory factors has been as you explained, the use of the DSP Team Mailer, and sending personal messages to my Tour Takers.

Thanks Ron!

Bob V. United Kingdom
DigiSoft Payliner

*******************************************************************

Hi Ron, thanks a lot for the nice and professional email. I just need some time to gather some funds. I look forward to talking to you in the near future. I like people who know the value of communication like yourself, thanks again!

Nick S. United States
DigiSoft Tour Taker

*******************************************************************
Those 2 emails say it all! Communication is IMPORTANT!

When you email your Tour Takers some of them will login back into the Member Center and watch the How It Works Movie. When they complete the Questionnaire at the end, I also get a copy, and this is where I get to communicate with your Tour Taker one on one to help you close the sale!

There are times when I even call them up to answer their questions, and I close them right on the spot!

Everyone should be emailing their Tour Takers at least 3-4 times a week, and you should also be emailing them every time you get paid!

Don’t walk a 1,000 miles when you can drive! Use the DSP Team Mailer!

***Text Message Marketing...(.Quick Tips, Do's & Donts)*** {188}

πŸ’•Connecting with consumers when they’re on the go is more important than ever, and text message marketing (also referred to as SMS, or short message service marketing) can be a highly effective technique.
But the proliferation of mobile devices doesn’t guarantee marketing success. If your pitches don’t resonate with consumers and motivate them to act, then your efforts are for naught.
Here are five tips for writing marketing texts that get read and produce results:
1.) Be brief and focused.
Your text message should be laser focused and succinct. There’s no room for fluff in mobile marketing. Know who your target audience is and speak directly to it. Leave out extraneous details and simply describe how to take advantage of your offer and its benefits.
2.) Avoid hype, slang and abbreviations.
If your text message looks like spam, consumers will delete it without a second thought. It’s critical that you leave out anything that might seem too slick and promotional. That includes marketing hype like “amazing” offers, slang and text abbreviations, all of which cheapen the perception of your brand and can destroy your campaign.
3.) Offer something of immediate value.
No one wants to receive texts from a company unless the messages offer something of immediate value. Because text messaging is an instantaneous medium, you should include real-time offers. Whether you’re providing information about a sale or a new product, the message should describe the benefits of acting now.
4.) Identify yourself.
How often have you received a text that doesn’t identify the company or brand? Instead, you often see a phone number you don’t recognize and a vague message that could have come from any number of companies. And how often have you simply deleted those anonymous messages? It’s essential that you clearly identify your business or brand to avoid getting the spam treatment.
5.) Make consumers feel special.
Don’t clutter consumers’ text message inboxes with offers and news they could easily get from your website or your brick-and-mortar locations. Instead, make recipients of your texts feel they’re special and have qualified for an exclusive promotion. Otherwise, they will most likely opt out of receiving any future texts from you.
Examples of Mobile Marketing Texts
Here are a few sample texts to help you avoid mistakes and write an effective marketing message:
Bad Example 1: Amazing prices at www.abcbags.com almost 2G2BT. Miss these prices AYOR.
Bad Example 2Hey! Did you see this sale? www.abcbags.com. Gotta get your bag before it’s too late.
Both texts include the hype, abbreviations and slang that can hurt your campaign.
Now, look at some good examples:
Good Example 1: 50% off all leather laptop bags at www.abcbags.com for the next 48 hours only. Use coupon code HALFOFFTEXT at checkout.
Good Example 2: ABC Bags 50% off leather laptop bags through 3/31/12. Show this message to store manager to get half off. Find a store: www.abcbags.com/locations
Notice in each example that the offer is succinctly stated, with a clear call-to-action. Each text also provides a sense of value, timeliness and exclusivity. The messages create a sense of urgency, which people would expect from a text.
Remember that finding the right messages for your audience will take time and experimentation. But the tips and examples above should help you achieve your goals of getting noticed and making some sales.

*** Marketing Tips (List Building) *** {187}

😍List building is all about collecting your visitor's name and email address so you can connect with them on a regular basis.

How do I know this works well? Because you're reading this message right now and the only way you can receive it is by subscribing through our squeeze page.

Here's some things you need to keep in mind when you come to build your first squeeze page.

You only have about 3-5 seconds to grab the attention of your visitor and get them to want to read more.

You have to grab readers, convert them into prospects, and maintain their attention all in a matter of seconds.

If you do not achieve this quickly, efficiently and effectively, people will simply click away without giving it much thought.

There are 5 elements that every profitable squeeze has in common.

1.) A strong headline
2.) A simple, clear design
3.) List of benefits
4.) A clear opt-in form.
5.) A strong call to action

Let's start with the Headline.

The headline is probably the most important aspect of a squeeze page. It needs to be compelling & benefit-laden. It needs to create a burning curiosity for your visitors to read more.

A headline has two purposes only: 1.) Grab attention and 2.) Compel further reading.

* Develop your headline by using the most important benefits of the offer.

* At its essence, a compelling headline must promise some kind of benefit for the reader in trade for the valuable time it takes to read more.

* It must grab the reader’s attention.

The true purpose of a headline is not to summarize or advertise the website. It’s simply to get people to read further.

If a headline does not achieve this quickly, efficiently and effectively, people will simply click away without giving it much thought.

The Amazing Hook.

The hook must be amazing. Formulate a hook by researching exactly what your customer would want if you delivered the perfect product.

Your hook needs to arouse your audience’s burning curiosity and FORCE them to listen.

It is your slant, your uniqueness, which no-one else has. Without the hook there will be no catch.

A hook is a uniqueness of your offer. What makes your product or service so unique that they just have to buy from you over the top of anyone else?

***10 Ways To Think Outside The Box, For A Better Business*** {186}

πŸ’£Smart business owners encourage their employees to be creative. After all, employees are on the front lines and often know better than anyone how to improve a business.

Inspiring and supporting creativity, however, isn’t always easy. If you'd like to get the creativity flowing in your business, try these 10 techniques.

1.) Encourage Free Thinking:

It may seem obvious to promote free thinking, but it’s not always the way that businesses work. We often continue doing what we’ve been doing—and how we’ve been doing it—simply because, on some level, it works. But free thinking is central to keeping your business contemporary, relevant and profitable. It’s all about thinking of things in new ways, leaving behind old, outdated models, and discovering new ones. Create a culture in your business in which employees are encouraged to think freely and express their ideas.

2.) Schedule Brainstorming Sessions:

Sometimes the best way to encourage creativity is to schedule it into the day. This might seem counterintuitive, but the more creative thought that can be scheduled, the more likely it is to happen. Set aside time for a weekly brainstorming session that involves all your employees. Encourage employees from marketing to interact with ones from payroll or from tech services. These kinds of cross-workplace discussions can do wonders for your business.

3.) Reward Creative Thought:

Show that you value creative thinking by rewarding the employees who engage in it. Set up a system of rewards—such as gift certificates, prime parking spaces or vacation time—for employees who come up with ideas that increase sales or target new customers. Such rewards can be powerful motivators for employees and will show everyone that you're serious about creative thinking.

4.) Model Creative Thinking:

The best way to encourage employees to be creative is to model it from the top. Show them what it means for the owner of the business to be creative, and they’ll be more likely to replicate this behavior on their own.

5.) Provide Break Times:

The best creative thinking comes when the brain has time to relax, make new connections and see things in a new way. This means that frequent and scheduled breaks can actually boost the creative spirit in the workplace.

6.) Take Field Trips:

Get out of the office or wherever you run your business, and take your employees to visit other companies, conferences or even just parks. Field trips can get them—and you—out of their everyday comfort zone and into a space where new thoughts and ideas can take hold.

7.) Support Artistic Expression:

Encouraging your employees to engage in artistic endeavor—painting, drawing, writing, cartooning or even pottery-making—can get them to see your business’s challenges and issues in a new light. These activities can occur during work time or after hours, and can help bring new life to your business.

8.) Communicate Openly:

No matter how creative your employees are, you’ll never know about it if you’re not talking with them about their ideas. Talk openly with them, both formally and informally, about what can be done better, what can be improved, what can be done differently and what their overall ideas are for changing the business.

9.) Bring in a Coach:

Creativity coaches can prove invaluable in the workplace, offering workshops and one-on-one consulting sessions to help boost creativity. You might be surprised how much they can bring to your business and what they can offer to both you and your employees.

10.) Evaluate, Measure, Track:

When your employees come up with creative ways to improve the business, change processes, boost sales or bring about other improvements, make sure to evaluate the changes over time after you've implemented them. The evaluation process is just as important as the implementation stage, since it will give you and your employees a sense of what works, what doesn’t and why. It will also give you the chance to fine-tune new procedures in order to make them work even more effectively. Creative business practices can seem mysterious and out-of-reach, but in fact, they’re accessible to any business owner who's willing to foster them. Once you make creativity a priority, your business—and your employees—will flourish.

***What Are Backlinks?*** {185}

😎Backlinks, also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links, are incoming links to a website or web page. In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node.

Inbound links were originally important (before the emergence of search engines) as a primary means of web navigation; today, their significance lies in search engine optimization (SEO). The number of backlinks is one indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page (for example, this is one of the factors considered by Google to determine the Page Rank of a webpage). Outside of SEO, the backlinks of a webpage may be of significant personal, cultural or semantic interest: they indicate who is paying attention to that page.
